Winter is pink for all B-Schools students! Climate is really cool. Semester exams are over, holidays are on and so is the season for inter-B-School events. There are many. But what is special to everybody is a really famous CMRD Trophy! This is organised by Dr. Vikhe Patil Foundation's Centre for Management Research & Development popularly known as CMRD. Every year, for last 10 years, participation in CMRD Trophy has been just increasing. This year out of almost 60 B-Schools across Pune area 30 B-Schools participated!! This, in fact is the largest participation any B-School event in this season has received. Few of the others who could not participate because of exams or some of their internal events wished that they also could have been here to enjoy the bash!

What makes 'CMRD Trophy' rock? "Uniqueness of 'CMRD Trophy' was that it was totally organised by the students of CMRD, by forming committees for different events, under the guidance of the Faculty members The speciality of 'CMRD Trophy' lies in two things - Selection of events and very transparent evaluation process." said Shree. Manoj Narwade-Patil, Trustee and Secretary of Dr.Vikhe Patil Foundation. This thought has been endorsed by the participating students of various B-Schools through a survey, which was collected as a follow up of 'CMRD Trophy'. To make this evaluation process really transparent, experts in the respective fields were called to assess the performance of the participants. In fact, all of the participating B-Schools said that they were looking forward to participate in next year also.

"Events for 'CMRD Trophy' were divided into 3 sections to bring about the participants' expertise of the B-School, namely - Sports, academic and cultural. Largest number of teams participated in Cricket, while in academics madAds received overwhelming response. In cultural, group dance and fashion show events are all time hits" said Ashish Jha - students' General Secretary.

To inaugurate the big and prestigious event like 'CMRD Trophy', the chief guests invited were also the 'big' figures in their respective fields. Sports' event was inaugurated by none other than chess Grand Master Shri Abhijit Kunte. You will not believe but he also played few overs bowled by Prof. Dr. Jaiprakash Sirur - Director of CMRD! Cultural event was inaugurated by Shri. Shirkant Moghe - a noted actor from Marathi screen and the theatre and Shri. Abhijit Majumdar, CEO, Xansa - Outsourcing and Technologies, Pune.

Four days of hectic activity - 30 B-Schools, 950 participants in more than 12 chosen events and a lot of hulla-gulla, CMRD Campus, off S.B. Road was looking like Utsav. You could experience the charged climate everywhere. And on the 4th day evening it was the time for what we all had been waiting for - the Prize Distribution Ceremony. "Who is the winner of this year's 'CMRD Trophy' ?" was the anxiety in every participant's eyes, in every participant's dhadkan! The 1st chief guest for prize distribution ceremony had already arrived - Shri. Vishwasrao Nangare Patil -Superitendent of Police - Pune Rural. A dashing personality - young and very confident, quirped one flame in the audience!

Evening was turning into a night, atmosphere was charged to the climax at CMRD auditorium - Students, invitees, participants - everybody was rocking to the tune of a dance performed by a very attractive couple - Pooja and Ritesh - both students of MBA till the results were declared by the judges. "And this year's 'CMRD Trophy' is won by Indira Institute of Management Studies." The jallosh followed cannot just be described in words!! The Winners of various events were awarded trophies and certificates by the hands of Shri.H.V.Gaikwad (Chairman BVG India Ltd.) and Shree Manoj Narwade-Patil (Trustee-Secretary of Dr.Vikhe Patil Foundation )

Then 'CMRD Trophy' was presented Indira Institute of Management. For whole of the week, Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM had been continuously resonating on 'CMRD Trophy' and also had sponsored Man of the match for Cricket and a special prize for the performer in group dance. Solaris - a famous state-of-art gym, gave away gift hampers to every winner and runner-up of each event.

Amitabh Bacchan, Preity, Bipasha..and many more stars, at C.M.R.D. in VOGUE-THE FASHION SHOW at C.M.R.D. Trophy 2007. Can you guys ever imagine!!! I cannot!! These stars have made us laugh, cry and what not. But on 11th Feb 2007, they were on the ramp setting the ramp on fire. The fashion show kick-started with a round called the BOLLYWOOD MIRCHI round in which the contestants had to wear the attire like the bollywood stars. This was the 1st round of the fashion show- THE VOGUE, the grand finale of the rolling trophy.

The surprising part was that the comparers of the show, Ms. Geetika Lalwani with Mr. Vivek Patil were dressed in the Veer-Zaara theme and graced the show by walking the ramp.

After the Bollywood-Mirchi round there was a dazzling dance performance by two of the most energetic students of CMRD, Ms. Puja Phade and Mr. Ritesh Kaul. The performance consisted of the sizzling Salsa and naughty Bollywood style of dance. Moving on with the show, the 2nd round was the Corporate Round, which is very essential for the management students in which they are well versed as how to carry on the latest fashionable trends with their responsibilities in the corporate world.

To fashionably wrap-up the corporate round, the ramp was set ablaze by the comparers, when they walked in the corporate style.

The glory was added to the show when the judge of the evening was none other than Mr. Sandeep Dharma, the well known personality in the glamour and the fashion world. The show was managed and very well organized by the students under the guidance of faculty coordinator Prof. Monica Gajare. The grand finale was ended with the declaration of results; the winners being Sinhghad Institute of Management [SIOM], and the runners up were Allana Institute of Management Studies [AIMS].

The most awaited surprise came in the form of The Vogue King who was elected from SIOM and The Vogue Queen was elected from MITSOM by the Judge. The parameters for the two awards were decided by the judge as the best dressed male and female model.

And last but not the least was "WHO ROCKS THE PARTY-CMRD, CMRD!!!" the pukar by the enthusiastic and the talented students of C.M.R.D.
