The galaxy arrived at the campus of CMRD during 4th to 7th October 06 when Jalwa, an intracollegiate event of CMRD, was held. The exclusivity of the event lies in the fact that it is organized by the students for the students under brief guidelines of faculties.

There was no perimeter to the joy, enthusiasm and thrust to win among the students. The otherwise collective groups of MBA, MPM, PGDBM, MCM & MPBA were putting forth all their efforts to be the winner in the annual socials.

The fun filled event started with the sports inauguration on 4th October. Cricket, Football, Volley Ball, Throw Ball, Tug of war, Relay Race were amongst the few outdoor sports organized by the students. They enjoyed all the games thoroughly on the lush green ground of CMRD. The indoor games like Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis, etc also received an overwhelming response.

On 6th October the cultural & academic events were inaugurated at the auspicious hands of Mr. Mathur. Mr. Mathur has a two decades of experience in teaching direction to students at FTII, Pune. In the inaugural address Mr. Mathur appreciated the well-organized event & said that he would like to revisit the campus & teach some new group games to students.

On 6th the whole day witnessed a complete passion of students for being the winner in many events like presentation, extempore, case study, laughter challenge, JAM, etc. Dr. Anil Keskar, Professor, Dept. of Management, Pune University, was invited for judging the case study competition. He appreciated the way the case was analyzed & presented by the students.

7th October marked the peak of students' curiosity. Some very popular events like antakshari, solo singing, business quiz, group dance, etc were scheduled on the day. The breaths were held high when the score board was showing only 5 point difference between MBA II (Non-mktg) group & MBA I (B) division.

Finally after the concluding event of group dance, MBA I (B) division won the overall trophy of Jalwa 06. But still the enthusiasm was not over. The students were eagerly waiting for the chief guest of prize distribution.

The prize distribution was held at the hands of renowned & famous actor Mr. Atul Kulkarni. The students had prepared a presentation based on the cuttings of some of his famous roles from Hindi & Marathi movies. A presentation on Padmashree Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil, the founder of Dr. Vikhe Patil Foundation was also done by the students. Mr. Kulkarni appreciated the idea of students.

In his address he mentioned that he was delighted to be there at CMRD. He expressed that the joy & energy he witnessed in the campus reminded him of his college days & it will serve as a power booster for him in busy & hardworking schedules of film industry. He urged that youth should never forget the 'Basanti Rang', which represents the colour of sacrifice, in their life & always use the tremendous energy they posses in a positive way.

The organization of Jalwa not only built their organizational & managerial skills but also builds the confidence level of the students, which is immensely needed by the management students. The event was over but the sweet impressions would remain on the minds of students forever.
